You can also try to delete old restore points unless you use them. If you still want the restore points feature but not the old points, then go to my computer, right click the disk you want and go to proterites for that dsk. In that disks properties click disk cleanup and let it go through its scan. When it is done it will pop open anither window and go to the tab labeld "More options" i think. (sorry do not have XP with me right now to double check.) Then there will be a button to dlete all except the last restore point, click that. Normally i got over 1GB from doing this.

    Run the Disk Cleanup option
    • Open My Computer.
    • Right-click on the hard disk drive that you wish to regain hard disk drive space. For example, right-click on the C: drive.
    • Click Properties.
    • Within the General tab, click the "Disk Cleanup" button located next to the pie chart.
    • Windows will scan the computer for all files available to clean up.
    • Once in the Disk Cleanup window check each of the boxes (except "compress old files") that are taking disk space and click Ok and then Yes if you wish to proceed.

    Compress?

When performing a Disk Cleanup you'll have an option to compress your hard drive. do not compress hard disk drive and/or compress old files.
