Restrict a USb to Read-Only

Hello. I found some good tips here on your forum regarding restrict the user using USB on my computer and so. Thats really nice tip. I need some more like this, many of my colleagues or friends take me Pendrive with them to see some presentation or file from my pendrive. And some times they stole some files form my pendrive as well.
So is there any way to apply read-only permission for USB devices?

Well, good thought.. This is possible to restrict users USB to read only.To do so, try this steps:-
• Click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

• Go to the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies\] key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "WriteProtect".

• Right-click on the 'WriteProtect' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

• Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Thats it...

Hey... thats really a nice trick to avoid theft of sensitive information.

We can let users read data from a usb drive, but not write data to that drive. Thanks for the tip !!
