How to install Vista on SSD

    Hello to all,
I have just installed a SSD Ocz Vertex 60gb in my PC but I cannot it read on the left and on the right things on the ahci mode or ide in the bios. Which mode is worth it to better put with the SSD? Knowing that with a traditional HDD, I put on Ahci. Thank you

I think that the only difference is that you can make a hot plug with the ahci. On a traditional hdd the fact of activating the ahci would allow better performance.

I don't think you can get anything as big as 32GB on the ExpressCard stuff, but I could be wrong. I would be surprised if you could boot off the expresscard slot. Usually the drivers for that are loaded after/during the OS boot.

A solid state drive (SSD) is a data storage device only. It cannot be used to install an operating system on it, such as Windows Vista. Windows Vista can only be installed on a conventional internal drive.

Unlike with XP, there is no need to "prepare" the SSD for installing Vista on it (and even with XP, those tweaks don´t apply to all SSD brands/models). If you still have concerns about installing Vista on a SSD, let us know, which SSD you want to pick for your ThinkPad My understanding is that you would like to perform a clean install of Vista, i.e. using a clean Vista installation media. For this purpose you will need an external USB CD/DVD drive, this would be the easiest way.
