    Problem with HP Recovery Process

    hi,
I have an HP Pavilion A6600F Desktop that is having trouble with the HP Recovery CD Process. The Disks are original HP Recovery Disks. The following message appears: No Operating System Installed or Partition Corrupted Press "R" to perform a full system recovery. ...
I thought my Disks were faulty too as I kept getting a message saying it could not find certain files. What has happened and what is the solution? Can anyone help!!!

When u ran the 8 disc Recovery did u press R for repair or F for full Recovery?

    Try these steps.

    1) Boot the pc without any disc inside and press F10 and go to advanced options and choose Destructive Recovery

    or

    2) Put the disc 1 and boot from the disc and press F for full Recovery then Y for yes.

Be careful as all your personal files and programs will be deleted when running these recoveries.

    hi,
Do you have an XP cd? If so boot from it, and then go to the recovery console and run chkdsk /p.

If the machine does have an add-on nVidia video card you could try removing it and running off the onboard graphics temporarily and do the reinstall...
Then hunt down the proper drivers and re-install the card.

Re: Problem with HP Recovery Process

Did you create the recovery discs before you tryed to install winxp?
Because if you created the recovery discs then you could boot off of those and they will fix everything.

If you have those discs, then on an HP you usually pres the "ESC" key at the HP boot screen which will bring you to a boot menu and then u select to boot from your cd/dvdrw drive and then it will take you through the process on the discs.
