    sad Problems with Acer ASpire T180 Desktop powering on

    I have an Acer Aspire T180 Desktop that does not power on when I press the power button but the fans come on. Additionally, there is an orange lighted icon that looks like the hard drive icon. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    As you dont have display but fan is on that can be happen due to problem in video card or due to ram problem. so take it to service center .

    You can test it by trying to boot from a Installation CD. You might have a power supply problem. . You might want to open up the case and clean out whatever dust you can, check the fan on the power supply for dust also.

    When you press the power button, the power is supplied to the 3 components-
    Motherboard
    Hard-drive
    CD-ROM

    Since the fan is working fine and you are able to see red light ON, your hard-drive is getting proper power and your internal circuit seems to be OK.

    I think your motherboard is not receiving the enough power that is needed...
    Check your mobo...
