unsure Keyboard doesn't respond at Startup

    Hello Friends,

I'm running Windows Vista on my system. Whenever i boot up my system, my key board doesn't respond at startup. Every time i have to reboot my system. After rebooting my system when i login, Vista automatically re-installs the keyboard software and says device is ready to use. Can any body tell me what exactly this problem is all about? Can any one help me out to resolve this issue? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Try to use a PS/2 keyboard.

If you're absolutely set on using a USB keyboard, ensure that "USB Legacy support" or "USB Keyboard Support" is enabled in the BIOS. Without it, Windows requires a driver to be installed in order to make use of a USB keyboard.

Try rebooting and go into the Bios, see if the keyboard controls the screens there, use the arrow keys, then without changing anything press F10 see if it lets you save and exit if so your computer and keyboard are fine it would be a windows problem, which could be corrupt drivers, corrupt operating system, corrupt registry ,virus, or software program gone nuts. If you have a office or multi- media keyboard could be the software program that might have some problems.

Just follow the below steps mention.

    1. Open Start Menu
    2. Open Control Panel
    3. Switch to Classic View
    4. Open Device Manager
    5. Expand Human Interface Devices
    6. There should be some "USB Human Interface Device"s
    7. Click on either
    8. If it is "Error Code 19" then keep following these steps
    9. Open the Driver tab
    10. Select Update Driver (should be on your computer)

This problem mainly occurs due to the registry corruption.

Hope so it may resolve your issue.
