Hi,

I have problem with webcam: Sony VAIO VGN-cs11s, resources of the computer I get the error: "creating video preview failed.

I have verified that the device is properly connected and that is not in use by another application or user ".


if I am launching skype when I connect to windows blue screen comes with error that does not specify the source of the problem

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers?
What software are you using to test it?

First, thanks for the prompt reply.

I have tried a lot of drivers that I found on sites supporting sony asia and
us. The camera is a Ricoh R5U875, to test: can I go from resources computer and I get the message Error video preview.

I cannot test it with skype

with msn messenger: when I test the webcam sees and does.

And the microphone does not work.


that depends on the sound drivers in some way?

think definitely a driver problem .... however in theory Windows should already contain the drivers for this webcam, and then try to uninstall everything ( if necessary by Device Manager) and reboot.
If all goes well when you restart Windows should install the driver by default.

For the wireless test to go to Device Manager> Properties of your wireless> card "Advanced."
At this point you should see the list with all the advanced properties: trying to set the transmit power to set maximum or minimum energy savings of the card.

Try the following steps :

1) Uninstall the webcam driver installation applications (if any)

2) Uninstall the webcam from Device Manager (right click on device> Uninstall)

3) Restart your computer

I have your same problem
and not only that...

please check if you have the same other problems:

- cd/dvd drive disappears sometimes , after long time been working. If I reboot I can see it again

- Restore previous configuration : no matter the way I set it, any time I reboot, I find it disabled.

I tried everything on the web. I would prefer not to format all

i solved one of the problems

I uninstalled a software made by Samsung , to connect mobile to pc, by using Revo Uninstaller . During the uninstall procedure I saw for a moment a Revo notes saying that "USB key Error (or something like that) was removed from autostart".

I still have the problem with skype,
with System Configuration Restore
and I realized a new one: audio : when set on "mute", sometimes it goes back to "no mute" .. with no apparent reason..
