Hard drive disappears

Hello,

My problem is this. My segate sata hard drive is removed during the copy.
I tested the drive on two other machines. No worries I arrive to meet the 500GB but when I gave it on the machine where it is supposed to be impossible to complete, it crashes after a few go.
I tried to reverse the water with sata disk and the system of water supply, nothing happens. If you see what that I can come to listen.

My configuration
Windows Xp
Asus motherboard
500Gb segate hard drive
Intel dual core
2 gb ram

First thing I would do is change that ribbon cable for a new cable. I suspect that the cable has a break someplace that loses continuity at times, hence it does not show up. also download the hard drive diagnostic to see what it says about the health of that drive.

It's an issue faced by many people . the only solution for this problem is to buy a SATA II card and installed. because the asus sata firmware is incompatible with certain sata II drives. I think unless Asus come up with a firmware fix the only solution is to buy an additional SATA II card.

Ensure that the drive is plugged in and the cables are not backwards. Also check to see that the drive is properly configured using the Master / Slave / Cable Select jumpers.
