Re: Buffer of a disk

As you will, in general none of brands with a USB HDD. The bottleneck is not with the HDD, but with USB. USB has usually a throughput of 20 ~ 35MBps (depending on your chipset) and hard disks about 60 ~ 120 g much more than USB. So you can have as much cache, you do not get much extra burst rate of throughput it.

Higher is better money in the cache, which is faster.
Maybe a nice drive to find E-SATA and USB?

Re: Buffer of a disk

The buffer is only really used for larger files. If you are word processing or email, etc. go no marks of a large cache. Only video (for example) will actually benefit.
