    USB to 25pin LPT1 adpater?

    hi,
I have a Dell Studio 15 Laptop installed windows xp and i purchased a Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager USB 2.0 Flash Drive to 25pin female cable which gives me the physical port but the only problem is that Windows XP unable to detect LPT1 port but under Device Manager as a "USB Printer Support" is available.
How can I get Windows XP to see it as a LPT port and not USB Printer Support? I tried changing the driver under Device manager but it would always give Error 10.Does anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it? Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Most of the time, you can resolve this error by updating the device driver for the faulty device. To update the driver, select the System option from the Control Panel. In the System Properties dialog box, select the Hardware tab, and then select the Device Manager button. Scroll through the Device Manager window and identify the faulty hardware device. Right-click on this device and then select the Update Driver command. Next, follow the screen instructions to update the driver of the selected device.

The easiest way to solve a USB error code 10 in Windows XP is to follow the steps below to remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

    A. Click on Start
    B. Right Click on My Computer, click on Properties
    C.Click on the Hardware tab
    D. Click the Device Manager button.
    E. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
    F. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    G. Restart the computer, and allow the computer to reinstall the USB controllers.
    H. Plug in the removable USB storage device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.

f you have a problem with a USB device, try these methods first:Unplug and then plug in the device.
If the computer prompts you for a device driver, read the information that was included with the device, or visit the manufacturer's Web site to see whether a driver is available.
Run Windows Update to obtain the latest fixes for Windows XP. When this is complete, plug in the device to see whether it is installed correctly.
