"Unknown CPU Type" is just a BIOS thing and shouldn't make any difference how the cpu runs. It's only because your board wasn't intended to run a -M processor.
I do find two 2400+ Mobile processors available though. One that runs at 133X15 and one that runs at 166X12...both at 2000Mhz.
Can you identify which fsb speed you're running at now?
I guess the bios still is not recognizing the cpu, maybe the wrong bios??? Check and make sure the bios version you used supports the cpu.
One other simple thing to check, make sure the cpu fan is connected to the correct header on the motherboard, if its not bios might sense this and throttle back the cpu, I doubt it but just a thought
Make sure you have the extra 4 pin 12v aux connected to the motherboard.
The multiplier is set on 12.5 and the fsb is 166 and it shows up as "Unknown Processor 2083" then if i check something like everest it ssays its running at 2.08 ghz. but i have found no way that makes it actually show up as a athlon xp like it should. Oh and i have pc2700 ram running at 333 so if i upped it to 200 fsb it would cause timing probs right?
It's possible that your motherboard didn't originaly support that speed of cpu.
It still runs but maybe if you do a BIOS update it will fully support it and recognise it.
Look at the BIOS updates for that motherboard, one of them may mention your cpu.
