| SATA boot problem
ASUS K8V motherboard system has 2 HD drives 1 IDE and one Hitachi S-ATA and I can't get it to boot from the SATA drive. When I try to remove the IDE drive the SATA drive will not boot. The system can not set it. Anyone have idea ? Thanks |

Make sure the drive you want to boot is set to master. and the other to slave. Also check in the bios that the 'first boot device' is the one you want as well. |

Have you tried the 'auto detect' feature in the BIOS. |

If you had the ide drive as the master disc to begin with, then the sata drive will not boot on its own. you will need to reinstall windows fresh on that drive, or might be another solution to your problem |
