| Problem while playing CD/DVDs in my new laptop??
I have bought a new HP Laptop. Whenever I play DVDs the screen faces weird problems after sometime(say about 20-25mins). Sometimes the screen will just freeze(as if the movie is hanged), sometimes a strip appearsin the middle of the screen. It happens regardless of what DVD I play new or old. The driver is a TSST corp. CDDVDW TS-L632N ATA. If I use the laptop for any other purposes, then no problem at all.... What should I do?? |

Follow the steps below: -First uninstall and then reinstall the device. Doing this in Safe Mode is sometimes better but you can do it in regular Windows first to see if it works. -Enter Device Mgr and the properties for this device, then if it has the option to "Uninstall" the device on the driver tab still, use that first. -Power down the machine and physically unplug this device from your computer. -Reboot into Windows without the unit hooked up, this will allow windows to register that the device is no longer installed. Power down and hook the device back up, reboot and allow Windows to detect it and install it once more. Hopefully, the problem should be solved.... |

Since you have suggested that you have bought the new laptop, your all the device-configurations must be under warranty...... I suggest you to take this to the warranty-repair and get upgraded.... |

It seems like your laptop may be overheating. There might be a problem in your video card & processor, hence while playing videos it causes them to put off a lot of heat. If it's not dissipated efficiently, you can get problems like you have mentioned, hang-ups and/or strips in-between. One way to know this is to try to play a video off of the hard drive for the same duration & see if the symptoms repeat themselves. |
