Printer wont install in Vista

hi,
i have new XPS 420 computer with Vista 64 bit OS and now I can't get photo printer HP 7260 installed.when drivers are downloaded and installed printer still will not print. printer works on my hp pc running windows xp.What has happened and what is the solution?Can anyone help!!!

if you have downloaded the driver for Vista? pls ensure that you have done this otherwise it will not really print becuse of incompatible drivers. or pls check if there is already a presence of a printer in your computer, then right click the proprties and hit test page.

Have you still got the cd for it if so then

• go to divce manager
• find the printer
• click update driver or somthing like that
• click browse my computer for driver software
• click browse
• click on the cd
• click ok
• click next
• and it should install

remove everything that you have installed to drive the printer, then without CD installing, go directly to the HP site, type in the printer name and download the Vista drivers. May not help, but I found first installing from CD and then downloading new drivers on top didn't work.
