Dead Western Digital hard drive

I bought Western Digital 500 gb hard drive about 2 months ago and now it's not working it's dead What can i do with it ? I don't remember where it's warranty card . Its still in warranty. any one tell me what shold i do ?

If you don't have Warranty card then they will not exchange your HDD. find out Warranty card. otherwise you will loose HDD.

Send it directly back to Western Digital. www.westerndigital.com. Goto Support and then RMA/Warranty. Sign up and then type in the serial number . for that i think you don't require warranty card.

Hi there..My name is Tom.I would like to ask someone for help.My external hardrive WD 500G Elements.Worked ok for first year.Last week PC start freezing when I tried to move some folders on It.Was still 150G space.Then I copy all folders onto PC hardrive and try to format the external one.Vista shows up a message"Windows is unable to complete the format".I tried couple of times since that/quick or normal format.Can anyone help please..

Try and format it in disk management.

Try the manfacturers web site for the correct utility for format or erase of an external drivel. Knowing what OS that you are using would also be helpful.
Remember, some external drives have files necessary to use them in older systems, to get around bios drive size limitations.
