Monitor Going To Sleep and won't wake up

Hi Friends,

I had left my computer on overnight because I was downloading something, in the morning tried to view my download and my monitor wouldn't come on, it was in sleep mode, I tried to get it out, but it wouldn't come out of sleep mode. When i restart it immediately goes in sleep mode. Anyone knows what to do?

Re: Monitor Going To Sleep and won't wake up

The settings for your monitor going to sleep can be found here:
Right click on Desktop
  • Click on Personalize
  • Click on Screen Saver
  • In the Window that pops up, click on "Change Power Settings"
  • On the Window that pops up, under the Power Plan that is currently selected, click on "Change Plan Settings"
  • Now click on "Change Advanced Power Settings"
  • Scroll Down and click on "Display"
  • Click on "Turn off Monitor after" and change it to whatever value you like.
When the monitor goes to sleep, all you have to do to wake it up is to move your mouse or press any key on the keyboard.

Re: Monitor Going To Sleep and won't wake up

Try updating you graphics card drivers and check the video settings under Control Panel.
If it doesn't work then Clear the CMOS and Check the voltages or amps on your power supply.

Clearing the CMOS can be done a few ways. The most common way is to use the jumper on the motherboard. This jumper has two settings. Normal and Clear. Moving the jumper to the Clear setting will erase the settings stored in CMOS. It does not remove the BIOS itself, only the user defined settings within the CMOS. When you clear the CMOS you will most likely see the error message "CMOS Checksum Error" on the next reboot. You can enter the BIOS setup at this point or before and reconfigure the settings.
