Keyboard does not work at startup

I wanted to format my hard drive and so I drove down the computer, before win-Cd pure and rebooted.

Now I press a button to continue with the formatting process, but the Pc is not responding, so the computer runs normally high and I can not format.

Bios can I add strangely when you start, but in the menus, eg if the PC crashes and somehow restarts, then comes a message that the PC in safe mode or normal up to, and then I press the arrow keys, it happens .

I know the problem even with an old PC of a friend, only that it is because the USB mouse. I think it is because that the USB driver only with Windows will be made available.

Best solution as earlier advised: USB/PS2-Adapter or just reserve a cheap keyboard with PS2 connection, or alternatively a USB-attached mouse with PS2 adapter, then you have a USB mouse in reserve and an adapter for the keyboard .
