Partition in NTFS format or convert to NTFS

What is better?: NTFS format or convert to NTFS?. Because I created with fixed disk and format to format partitions 4, one in FAT and the other three in FAT32 and install Windows 98 on a FAT32 partition and then format one of the partitions with FAT32 to NTFS with Setup of Windows XP Service Pack 3 and then froze when the installation is missing 33 minutes. Then I tried converting to NTFS instead of formatting and it worked. Is it wrong format a FAT32 partition to NTFS ?

Formatting is not bad, the bad is that the installation is frozen and bad windows is to use XD. It's good to be careful with the formatting of the disc, you could have problems with it.

Format is very different from a virtual machine to a physical effect as the recipient is the real disc. it's the format cleaning of the disk and it does enhance the life expectancy of the unit. Formatting than erase what you have is just a kind that partition with which the windows operating system or better flow.

Look resigned as formatted in NTFS partition in FAT32 because this time the installation was 37 minutes remaining when trance. I will try to give form to the paragon partition magic or they told me it was better to give input to NTFS format as the format does not allow it. But I have no other to convert the FAT32 partition to NTFS in Windows XP Setup.
