    Need advice regarding power supply

I am going to buy a 450 W ATX power supply.
Which brands are good in India? I want to buy a good power supply, so i am not worried about the price.
Also, anything else to keep in mind while buying power supply?
    Please advice.

Another issue. I have just registered on this site. I have also activated my account from the activation link sent to me in the email. But, while posting, i am having problems. If i try to post, it tells me to login again. Why do i have to login again, when i have logged in once. This happened when i tried to start this new thread too.
Also, after sometime, i am logged out automatically. Like, i will be going through threads of the forum, and on one page, i will find that i am no longer logged in. Why is it so?

    Thanks

    Anupam

Well, if you stay idle for 2-3 minutes then system automatically logs you out from the forums as it is one of the features of the forums.

And as for Power Supply, you can go with Corsair, which is one of the best brand I know of. See my computer specifications in my Signature, as I do also have a Corsair 750 Watts running for my Gaming Build. What is your Computer Specifications?

In any case you can also see our guides made on How to choose a Power Supply

Asus offers on its site a simulator to help you choose correctly according to your components.

Thanks for all the replies .

Before posting, i had already looked at all the links that you guys have posted. Just didnt had a look at the second link from Hardwareman. Thanks for all the links though.

The specifications of my PC are:
    Intel P-IV 3.0 GHz
    Intel 915GAV Motherboard
    On board intel graphics controller
    On board Realtek HD Audio
    512 MB * 2 DDR RAM
    Sony DVD-RW
    Maxtor 40 GB PATA HD
    Seagate 160 GB SATA HD

Other than Corsair, which are the other good PSUs available in India?
I have 300 W of Intex, but i dont rate Intex products very highly. They are cheap and get defective quite quickly.

2-3 minutes are too less i think for logging out of the site. Even while, i am writing this post, i have been logged out. So i think its quite annoying to login again to post my reply.

    Thanks

    Hi,

For the problem that, you have been logged out in very less time.
I think there is only one solution that is while entering your Username and Password just select the Remember Me option.

this will definitely work for you.

Thanks for the tip Hardwareman. I chose the Remember Me option. Seems to be working .

I went to inquire for power supply rates today. Seems like only Frontech, Intex, and UMax are available. Grrrrrrr... where are the other good brands?

I am not getting any of the big and good brand names out here at my place. I asked at many hardware shops.
They keep Frontech, Intex, U-Max and Tech-com... all priced around 500 INR.
Which one is the best out of these brands?
