Sound card not working properly

Hi friends,
I am facing an issue with my Sound. I have recently changed my motherboard to Asus K8-mx. When I am trying to install the driver it takes it, but I am not able to get the sound from my speakers.
Guys please help me out with this issue.

Sure i will help you with that ,Before that can you tell me your PC configuration and did you try to change the Speakers.

Following are my PC configuration.

AMD Athlon 2600
K8-MX Asus Motherboard
512 mb DDR1 RAM.
160 gb HDD.


I have also try to replace the Speaker but still not working. Please help me out.

See in the bios setting does you Onboard Sound Card is enable.
or
Try to install PCI Soundcard and see does it's working or not.

Yes i tried with installing PCI Sound card it's working fine.Thanks for your Suggestion but my onboard Sound Card it's not working. I am having onboard AC97 sound card.

it seems to me that you might be installing the AC'97 Drivers from some other motherboard's CD. though the drivers are from the same manufacturer (AC'97 in this case) try installing from your own motherboard's CD for compatibe drivers. In case you've lost the CD, download it from here:


AC'97 Audio Driver K8V-MX

Though the manufacturer is the same, the Hardware IDs vary, and not all the driver comes with universal compatibility. The same is the case with Asus motheboards. The above is the Driver for your motherboard model for Windows XP
