hard drives with several write / read?

Especially when you copy and while opening a program, I once again noticed that disks are still the bottleneck is with the PC.

Due to a sudden inspiration idea came to me the following:
a hard drive with at least 2 write / read. Why are the not? Instead of the hard drive with higher RPM always turn to leave, but it is certainly a hard drive with two or more such write / read construct. This could be much faster data read and write, because while the two units will be done. In fact, it is similar to a RAID 0, just in a hard drive.
What do you think about the idea?
Sure, as a hard disk is more expensive, but for the performance user certainly a useful opportunity.
This is technically feasible but should be?

How accurate are working hard drives internally?
Theoretically it can be seen for example. 1 TB of disk from the 8 "heads" while simultaneously read or write.
So the data is still holding in the series cleverly arranged so that it works.
Würd but I wonder if you have not come up with the idea is on the way to faster hard drives, or is perhaps still ned so easy to implement as it sounds.

Re: hard drives with several write / read?

In principle it would be like a house raid. But obviously use existing disks heads while not otherwise would have hard drives with multiple disks automatically faster than the smaller models (only linear, not the access time). A speed advantage between plates of different sizes but is not recovering as long as the data density at the various models of the same. What exactly because I do not know any problems with the complex electronics. Mechanically gabs probably because little additional effort.
Definitely it would be more complicated, several heads on a plate because of the significant mechanical problems is when they really should be applying independently. Even if per capita Platter an independent control would be the much needed additional mechanics because so far only a single positioning mechanism for all Platter has. Both could reduce access times when a good control electronics behind ..
If they should not be independent (that is, in principle, a common head, would return only when the linear rate of help), it could cause problems in terms of increased vulnerability Head Crash (Parking harder, more "drag") and also could have their heads on each other strong influence so that a reliable read / write is no longer possible (should be a very broad his head).

Ultimately, it will probably be that there simply has been too expensive and with "normal" or RAIDs increase speed is cheaper. Perhaps, but still as a means against the SSDs ...

They would need two actuators - ie mechanical Lesearme - which, of course, the vulnerability would increase massively. Incidentally sowas not fit into a standard HDD enclosure if you are not just a Platter 2.5 "disc is used.

The disadvantages that were listed here, I can not understand:
    - Several heads would increase the failure rate> as already mentioned, there are already several heads with HDs
    - Size: there are now HDs in all sizes, as well: Why are 5.25 'trunks?
    - The controller that controls the whole, can not be so difficult to program be? Finally, there is already the RAID
    - Price: Can not be much more expensive, finally, there are already several panels with heads

Where we're in the process: Why is such a RAID logic is not already in sheets that have at least two panels have?
