    Exclamation help with ide hard disks

    i have an old pc configuration as-

    intel pentium III - 1 Ghz
    384 MB SD RAM (128 on one slot and 256 on other)
    20 GB Harddisk

    now i want to upgrade my harddisk and add another IDE harddisk of 80GB or 40GB but i am confused about the RPMs that which one will work for me....
    pls help me regarding this and suggest the rpm........

    Hi, can you give detail about your motherboard. because without knowing which motherboard you use it's hard to say exact what hard drive size it can support.

    actually i have a custom board of compaq but it is exactly similar to intel 810e board

    What RPM is your old 20 GB drive? Are you going to replace it or add another 40/80 GB along with it?

    For replacing it, I dont think there will be any problem having hard drive of latest RPM available. It should work perfectly.
