| HDD not recognised in BIOS Seup when new Hard disk is installed
I have Mercury made Mother Board and seagate HDD and CMOS setup. All is going well with this. When I changed the HDD(removed old HDD connection and new HDD is connected), only CD Atapi Rom is being detected as 3rd Slave but the HDD is not detected. But when I removed new HDD and old HDD is again fixed, HDD is detected as 3rd Master and CD Atapi Rom is being detected as 3rd Slave. I tried changing the Hard disks 3 or 4 times. But the same thing is being repeated. Can Some one out there help me to fix this one. Thanx in advance.  |

first remove ur rom and connect only ur hdd to the primary slot in the motherboard.start ur computer and if a msg is displayed"no bootable device found" it might be possible that the new hard disk is not working..secondly also try to interchange the cable of rom and HDD ...if it still dosent work your HDD is not working...is ur HDD a sata or IDE?
