CD and DVD players no longer appear on the desktop

    Hello,

    I have a Dell Dimension 8400 PC with a CD / DVD:

Without any reason they are disconnected and I get an error code 39 "Windows can not load the device driver for this hardware. This driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).

They are active but do not appear on my desktop.
In the Device Manager I left a yellow question mark.

several methods that have nothing to solve the problem (taken on forums):

    1st solution:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the 2 readers that nothing has always given the same error message.

    2nd solution:
    Editing the Registry:
    Start / Run / regedit
    - Remove Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values of the following key to the Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ (4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318)
    Restart => nothing

    3rd solution:
The restore point => I had a message "changes to the D: drive after this point can not be canceled because the player has either been excluded from the analysis system restore or has been turned off or removed "

    4th solution:
Download the drivers on the site DELL drive at execution time I had an error message saying "No matched drive detected"

I do not know what to do .......
    Thank you kindly help me.

I do not understand what you have done research ...

In the window where you enter your search, you exactly tapes cdr *. sys

If a file begins with and eventually cdr. Sys, it will be displayed, and the path where it is located.

(to display fully the way, you can remove columns explorer by positioning the mouse over the column separator at the top between the column names (between size and type for example), which will link double arrow that will help you push the column to the right while holding down the left button of your mouse.

To make a screenshot, you press the Print Screen button of your keyboard, it will get you a copy of the screen to the clipboard, you paste them into paint, you work your image to avoid is too great and to keep only the most part, you save on your disk in jpg format.

Then, when you post your message below the window before you click Browse to pick your image, and then you click on upload. A link will appear that you're going to completely copy and paste it into your message. Your image will be on the forum

It is also possible that this is original material.
    You have XP or Vista?
    How old is this PC?

Re: CD and DVD players no longer appear on the desktop

My operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition,
    my PC date 03/2004.

Even if that 2 readers have disappeared together from day to day it can be original material?

I made a backup of my c: on my external drive is that if I restore it can solve my problem?

    Thank you for your reply.
