    Help to build new config

I am the proud owner of a Dell Dimension 9150 from past 3 years, I would like to have a new config and I will be happy to have some help from you because I admit to not knowing what to choose.

    Here is my current config:
    DELL DIMENSION 9150 With:
    Motherboard: Dell DXP051
    Processor: Intel Pentium D830 (3Ghz)
    Ram: 2 x 512 + 2 x 1 GB
    Graphics: ATI Radeon X1950 Pro
    PSU: Original DELL 375 W

Things that I want to keep: sound card, firewire controller, memory card reader, 8 USB2, 2 hard disk, drives and DVD burner that I use almost more.

Generally, I play a lot or otherwise I store a lot of photo with a little more work in photoshop HD video playback.

My budget is around Rs. 32000 and will stick to this config about 2-3 years.

Here I hope you will help me.

So in fact you want to change: psu + motherboard + processor + memory + graphics card.

For my part I would say wait until early next year! Because the Intel Core I7 will available at cheaper cost and also there will be decline in the cost of core2 duo or quadcore, and there's also the AMD phénom2 arriving.

I will like that, especially if you want to keep your config 2 or 3 years.

Thank you for the quick response, I think you're right to wait but I would have 2-3 config Type example to start looking.

Re: Help to build new config

All Intel Core I7 are very good processors, but not until early next year as prices for motherboards go down. The Phenom is apparently to have great potential but must wait a little for the true test.

otherwise at the moment and if you want to play, it is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, E8500, E8600 (your choice) for the games are more core2 duo preferred rather than quad core (except I7)

for graphics, the best compromise lies in ATI (AMD) with HD4850 or HD4870, very powerful card that will play on a widely with the options of the game thoroughly.

for motherboards asus or gigabyte chipset with Intel X38, x48, P45 or X58 for core I7.

But I repeat, wait next year to make your purchase (unless it is in an emergency absolute) but it would be bad if you buy things now, whereas in 2 or 3 months it will greatly change: change of socket Intel (passage of 775 in 1366), amd (AM2 + to AM3) and DDR3 for all.

Re: Help to build new config

Thank you for all this info, based on this I made a config by surfing on the net and I go like this:

    Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro
Proc: E8500 or 8600 if decline in January
    Ram: 4 GB (2 x 2)
    Graphics card: HD4850

Which makes roughly Rs. 35000 without psu in the hope that all this will decline slightly in January.
