    IDE to Sata

    hi 2 all... i have just assembeled my pc a month back... i am using Dvd writer & 2 HDD from my old pc all r IDE my new motherboard has only 1 Ide slot and 4 sata slots so i can connect only 2 out of the 3. so i wanted 2 know if theres any converter Ide 2 Sata cable so that i can connect any 1 device in the sata port in my mobo..and for how much will i get it...thanks in advance...

    you need a pci card.
    It's a pci-ide controller.
    gives you 2 more places to put ide cables ....2 channels / cable.

    yes there are IDE-SATA-IDE SATA/IDE 2 Way Converter available in market. Go and get them they will not of much cost.

    Yes, you can get it any computer vendor shop that you want.

    well i suggest go through this link, where u can find wht u exactly need ,just see SATA adapter section also check out bidirectianal adapter's

    forgive me please for hijacking this thread but the topic might answer a question i have...

    i have a small form facter desktop w/ a sata hard drive. are you saying that there is a cable that would allow me to take my pther desktop that has an ide drive, DUMP that drive and use the sata drive in its place ?

    Well buddy we are just saying there is the IDE-SATA 2 Way Converter which allow us to connect sata drives in to IDE port and IDE drives into SATA port.
