Have you installed at least SP1?
Basic Windows XP does not recognize a 200 GB HDD.
It does that, as of SP1.

Yes, I am using Windows. I several time reinstalled my pc.

So we consider that you have at least SP1 or SP2, Windows installed. Maxtor normally provides a utility installation and diagnosis of CD. From memory it is Maxblast.
