External HD heats quickly

Hi!

I use a USB external hard drive for data backup. I notice that heats quickly once it is connected. How long can he remain continuously connected before grilling?

Re: External HD heats quickly

While be anything from the temperature of the disk, if it is within 40 °, if it is in 50 is very dangerous, in any case it is really hot, turn it less,

Justin is right. Then theoretically anyway manufacturers provide packages depending on temperatures. Although sometimes we wonder if they have already laid their hands on their case after two hours.

If you can install software to control the temperature of the disc.
If it exceeds 50 ° is not good.
Besides your case is it broken? If this is not the case is likely that your disk exceeds that temperature.
You have different solutions, add a small fan, use the box open, or blow over
