Logitec Japan (no relevance with Logitech the Swiss based company) announced today the LHD-ED1000U2L, you average 1TB external HDD with USB 2.0 with some Eco friendly features.

Nope this HDD Case is not made by corn based plastic, but it features a nifty Power Saving mode which will stop any HDD rotation after 1 minute of inactivity (No access to its stored data). Even if this feature will work on both PC and MAC, only a PC powered computer with the appropriate software will allow you to tweak the power-saving feature and increase the time needed to stop the HDD disk rotations.Our LHD-ED1000U2L will cost in Japan around 220€.
