Building AMD computer

Well since most games are getting past my video cards range i have to update but they dont make video cards for this mobo so im goin build a whole new rig. And from what i heard amd is cheaper and just as good for gaming as intel but Ive never built a computer before so i need some help lol. Ill post what specs now so if i can keep anything yall can say.Manufacturer:
Dell Inc.
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.40GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Hard Drive:
156 GBVideo Card:
RADEON X300 Series
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Sound Card: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [C4C0]

Ok so i want to spend no more than 350 bucks. My friend kind of made a veryquick wishlist for me but i want input from some people that no more lol

Looks good enough low end budget build for an AMD Lover.

But anyways, do kkep in mind the below info for the video card that you are going to purchase.

after installing this card you have to reinstall your sound driver if you was to use your old sound card. ati overdrive wont let you overclock any higher than it is already set at, if you want to overclock you have to use riva tuner or what i just edited the bios. Drivers on disc are slow and cause graphical error, simply download the newest one from ati's website and your good to go.

And rest is all good.

Thanks preciate help. Is there something wrong with amd? Its like a split between friends to which is better intel or amd -.-

I feel that Intel is better. But its my personal opinion. I will say, read some reviews on 'Intel vs AMD' on various websites through search engines and then decide yourself which will be better for your needs.
