Problems with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000

Sponsored Links
Hi all,
I have problems with my Wireless laser desktop 7000 keyboard and mouse.

I have e new installation of XP SP3 on a homemade PC... everything seems to work perfectly except the keyboard/mouse....

The problem is windows related because when I star in DOS mode I do not have this problem..

The problem is that sometimes every 10 seconds or so.. the keyboard hangs.. and do not type ... same with the mouse.. it hangs ever 10-12 second for a second or two....

Does anyone have any suggestion.. or shall I reinstall xp completely?

since it is wireless you can check for electromagnetic interfering devices nearby to computer.or best try installing winxpsp2 and you are sure that you have installed genuine winxpsp3?

About the XP version yes.. I streamlined it my self with the SP3 service pack.

I can't see any interference and the keyboard at least works perfect if I boot up in dos environment.

Try reinstalling the drivers or download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site and install it. Also did you tried using some standard keyboard and/or mouse? Did you have the same problem again?

Re: Problems with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000

Well i got newer drivers.. I uninstalled the old ones and cleaned the registry and the file system. After a restart I installed the new drivers but the problem persists...
So I guess I will have to reinstall XP completely.

I don't think reinstalling XP will help you in anyway. By the way did you faced any problems while installing SP3? And what about using some standard keyboard and/or mouse? Did you tried it?

Re: Problems with the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000

Well you're right I reinstalled XP with a clean version the only changes I did in the installation where to make it unattended and some tweaks in the explorer settings.. but I think there is some strange conflict with the graphic drivers.. before I installed the drivers for the graphic card everything worked perfectly afterward though the problem came back?? really strange...sadly I don't have a standard keyboard and mouse to test.. but if everything works prior to the installation of the graphic card i guess there is something conflicting.
