Choosing printer, that black and white

I did almost never used my printer, which is a DELL Photoprinter 720.

And there by a professional change I will have to print more than regularly, but only text and therefore black and white.

Knowing that Dell cartridge costs rs 2000, it must necessarily color cartridge to make it work (and pump it!) Is what you do not know a printer cheap, reliable, which that black and white and whose cartridges are not unaffordable?

And in fact, inkjet or laser.

And last but not least, that runs under linux .

I am not an expert .... but according to your requirements and I'll advise monochrome laser printer.
For example I have the Brother HL-1440, Brother HL5240 Mono Laser

To most people laser-printing means black and white and ink printing means color. Color printing has come a long way. The result could be amazing. It's great for banners, brochures, newsletters, report covers, art design, marketing materials, greeting cards, and other fun projects. However, ink printers are often slower, costs more per page, requires more frequent change of ink cartridge, and is more prone to reliability issues.

Laser printing is much more mature now. It's fast, reliable, and inexpensive. It's great for documents, simple graphics, and faxes. However, it's mostly only black and white.
