First delete everything and reinstall it - if you still have problems look for updated drivers on the manufacturers site.

Are there any warnings showing in Device Manager ?if yes then first uninstall drivers from your pc and then download latest drivers from manufacturers site. because windows xp is detecting the cam so its not xp issue.

The first thing I would do is delete everything and reinstall it - if you still have problems look for updated drivers on the manufacturers site - you often find that a slightly later models software is also compatable with yours

I thinks your graphics card drivers may not be install properly you should install video drivers, make sure your computer meet the minimum requirements. And also install the drivers for webcam properly.
