Tricks for Improving the Yield of my pc?

I need a good friend of his advice.

I have a branded laptop with pentium 4, a bit old I want to know is if I can improve the performance of my laptop

these are its characters.

windows xp

Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
256 MB of RAM

Can I get upgrade a laptop or buy a new one better ?????

The processor is pretty good you could buy more memory 1 gb ram.

I mm seriously .. for XP ..1 GB of RAM is good .....give us information for your video card? and others?
