Moving from FAT32 to NTFS without losing data

    Hello everyone,

I just realized that on my parents PC's hard drive is FAT32, and I wonder whether it is possible to switch to NTFS without having to format the hard disk and thus losing all data.
    Thank you.

Yes indeed you can format without losing any data
    Here's how:
you go to command prompt and you tape
convert "Here you met the letter of your drive: / fs: ntfs

For example, type the following command to convert the C drive to NTFS:

    convert c: / fs: ntfs

When the following message appears in the window of the command prompt, type the name of your hard disk that you convert, and then press ENTER:
In the name of your hard drive

When the conversion to NTFS is complete, the following line appears in the window of the command prompt:
    The conversion is complete.
That I hope it will help you

Follow Wingit answer, but make a BACKUP first.

To change from FAT 32 to NTFS file system for more stability, security and less fragmentation, open the command prompt and type:

    Convert C: /FS:NTFS

Where C: is the drive you want to convert. The command prompt can be loaded via Start->Run->cmd

Even though you aren't supposed to lose your data, always perform a backup first.

Yes thank you it helped me, but I have a small question. The hard disk is 2 partitions, not that problem is that the 2 partitions or ntfs, or I can let one in FAT32 (which it is safeguarding the install there's almost nothing on it)?
