Need a good data recovery software

Hi,
I think my Hard Drive is going bad & i need to recover my data as soon as possible.
I don have an idea which software should i use for this purpose. Can you guys suggest me some good & dependable tools for this?

This way might sound long but its not...
Download LIVE LINUX CD OR WINDOWS XP CD version, run it off the CD/DVD and then you will have access to hard drive
This CD does not need to be installed on hard drive.
Once you get to contents, either transfer the filers over the network or burn on DVD/CD
