LiteOn unveils an external DVD burner for laptop, the eSAU208. It burns DVD + R and DVD + RW 8x, DVD ± DL and DVD-RW 6x, DVD-RAM 5x and a CD-R and CD-RW 24x. Finally, it reads DVDs at a speed of 8x and CDs at 24x speed, either conventional specifications for a product in this category. The latter is powered by one or two USB ports (like some external hard drives), depending on the energy delivered by them, or through an adapter.

This product is distinguished by two features, however: it is equipped with LightScribe technology, which allows the laser to print a visual and text on the upper surface of the discs compatible, and a function of energy conservation that reduces half the speed of reading and burning.
