LiteOn unveils an external DVD burner for laptop, the eSAU208. It burns DVD + R and DVD + RW 8x, DVD ± DL and DVD-RW 6x, DVD-RAM 5x and a CD-R and CD-RW 24x. Finally, it reads DVDs at a speed of 8x and CDs at 24x speed, either conventional specifications for a product in this category. The latter is powered by one or two USB ports (like some external hard drives), depending on the energy delivered by them, or through an adapter.
This product is distinguished by two features, however: it is equipped with LightScribe technology, which allows the laser to print a visual and text on the upper surface of the discs compatible, and a function of energy conservation that reduces half the speed of reading and burning. It is divided into two colors, a white version and a burgundy, and will be available no later than the month of October at a recommended retail price of 70 euros. As such it represents an excellent alternative to drive optical extra end Apple proposes to accompany his MacBook Air for a price much higher, with less class it must be said.
