Transfer data from computer to laptop

Friends, I want to transfer my data from my desktop computer to my laptop. Is this possible in any way through any medium? Please help me.

You can transfer data using crossover LAN cable. Connect one end to the computer and the other end to the laptop and you are done. You can transfer files easily.

You can also use USB cable to do that. Its easier and best way and works faster in most of the cases.

I dont think USB is faster than LAN port transfer. LAN port transferring can also be faster if the port is gigabit port.
