You need to clone your old hard drive to transfer its content onto the new one.
You have software such as Norton Ghost or Acronis True image that do this very well. Otherwise, you have progs. free that can do the same thing (it is sometimes a bit more complicated but it works: UBCD see for example (ultimate boot CD) or doing research on google => cloning hard drive.
    Good luck ...

The cloning concerns ALL content of hard Drive : Operating System and especially Master boot record

So if I understand well, I use a log to clone my hard drive, who runs a 5400tr/min on a bootable CD, I connect my new hard drive and I launch the CD bootable.
    im i right

Everything depends on the prog cloning that you use.
If I take the example of Norton Ghost or Acronis:
It is better to store the image on external support.
One trick is possible in your case: create an extra partition on your old Hard Drive and you will lodge your disk image (clone of your DD). You can come apart your disk and you put it externally on your laptop plugging into the USB (you need a box to house SD)
Unless you already as an external Hard Drive, in which case it's up your disk image.
You boot on your portable CD or Ghost, Acronis you go in the chapter "Restoration", you described the path of your disk image and you spears restoration of the contents of your former DD on the new one.
