    Computer shuts down randomly

My computer is having some strange problem from couple of weeks. It shuts down randomly and few days ago it made some weird noise and after that it was off. I checked the power cord but found it ok. I think power supply or motherboard is faulty but not sure.

    Please help me on this!

Try using Core Temp to see whether CPU is overheating or not. Ideally the temperature should be in 50-58C range when it heats up. If its 60C+ then you may have a problem. If so, assuming the fan is working, it could be due to CPU heatsink mounted incorrectly. Fix it with a technician or a serious power user.

    It's probably overheating issue.

When the computer turns off, immediately reboot and go into the BIOS and check the temperatures.
