Altec Lansing In India

Can someone tell me how is the sound quality of the Altec lansing VS3151 and the cost of it in india.

Plz gv me ur feedback on altec lansing in general too.

I wanted a 5.1 speaker system for my room. Was wondering which was a really good one.

Umm depends on your budget, I think Creative Inspire 5.1 is awesome for its price. If you are looking for xtreme quality then go for Logitech Z680. Also mid end Logitecg Z640 should suffice.

VS3151 is available from Zeta technologies. Price is outright insane - 9000 bucks.

how can the mx5021 which is a 2.1 speaker system be more expensive that the VS3151 which is a 5.1 speaker system???

Has anyone used the VS3151.. plz let me know abt the output. I don't trust logitech for speakers.

The VS3151 is good but the price difference between it and altec 251 is not justified. They sound nearly the same. The VS3151 has an external controller pod and flat speakers. So you are basically paying premium for the looks. As far as sound is concerned, they are only slightly better than 251. Both sound much crisper than the logitech Z640. I had a choice between the two and chose the 251 cos I really don't care about the looks. Not worth the price IMO.

Yeah MX5021 is rather good. But the price is inflated by the THX certification. I couldn't notice much difference between it and the 621 which costs half the price of the MX5021.

Hey dude get urself an altec 251 if it has to b an altec....the altec website says tht 3151 is the replacement for 251...'at the same low price'...but it is downrit costly...u'll get a 251 for 6k....a much better solution for lot lesser price wid no obvious performance difference....
Consider logi z640 n creative 5.1 as well......but b4 u choose a speaker configuration decide wot u want it for...a 4.1 or 5.1 may b a gud surround sound solution for gaming n movies but if u r an ardent music listener...gud quality 2.1 solution shud b a much better solution...like altec atp3 or altec 4121....

I need the spkrs purely for music. no gming and movies. But i'd like the surround sound. the vs3151 is available in the US for a piddly $70. The taxes just push these things beyond our budget here in India.

Any idea what is the weight of a 5.1 speaker system like the vs3151 or creative 5.1 ... coz i may be able to ask a frnd to get it from the US if it ain't too heavy.
