error 39 while installing drivers for usb cam

hello guys

i ran into a problem with my usb cam on my laptop, the cam works fine on my desktop it started having problems recently with the laptop

iv tried reinstalling the drivers and then it ask me to restart the computer and when i do so after loading up it again tries to install the driver and it gives me error code 39 Windows cannot start this hardwars, the driver may be corrupted

but i think its not, coz i use the same exe file to reinstall the drivers on my desktop and that worked fine i also tried using another cam on my laptop but it didnt work too

im using xp sp2, any help would be appreciated

iv already checked it and that doesnt help, im trying to use zs211 cam which has 6 led, i also downloaded the drivers from davesdrivers but still it didnt work

this cam is manufactured by zsmc, iv been through their pages but damn, i just dont know what to do.

Wat the usb cam working fine before on your laptop, if not then, contact your laptop vendor cause it seem to be faulty.

it was working perfectly fine, it just started 2 days ago, the usb slot is working fine coz i plug the usb mouse in it and that works fine

Do this little Registry surgery from here by deleting the upper & lower filters for that error code

Did you try System Restore to previous date when it was working fine before?

einsteing 007, i tried doing that, still its not working

appy10 no i havent tried doing system restore, but i wanna avoid doing that, coz i already knew system restore would fix my problem before posting this issue here, so i wanna avoid that.

im sure this is something we can fix it without system restore, but at this poing im getting tired, dammn

anything else i can do ?
