NOTE: This Tutorial is made assuming you have a basic level of knowledge on how to use Adobe Photoshop.
Among many other things, 2006 was famous for. one of the keen ones in the tech world was
use of "Wet Floor" effect in Websites and signatures. using simple tricks, giving an image an reflection as if it's
on a very clean wet floor. it's very easy to do and you can create some really cool banner/logos with it.
here, i've used Adobe Photoshop CS2 to create a simple TECHTALKZ logo and giving it a cool reflection effect. here's how you can create your Own!
Step 1.
Create a basic blank image, here i've chosen 600x200
using the Text tool, just type any random thing you want, just till you get hold of it, here, i've painted the background Green and given it a Cool Gloss Effect, it's important to note that, Wetfloor Text is best matched with Gloss background.
you can read the tutorial on how to create Gloss Effect HERE , for the Tutorial text, i've choosen " Bauhaus 93 " Font at 36pt while giving it "Crisp" Special Effect. let's move on now....
After you're done typing the text, Open the Layer Panel, by pressing F7, see the TEXT Layer?
select the "Move Tool" by pressing V, now Drag the Text Layer to "Create a New Layer"
it should now make an Exact Replica of your text layer and you should see this:
now select the "Copy" layer and go to Edit> Transform>Flip Vertical
now you should see this:
now using the move tool, move the copy just slightly up, so it looks like this:
now time to wrap it up, select the copy layer, and create a layer mask by clicking on the Layer Mask button at the bottom.
