Now in search type: UAC and after that make click on ok button. Now result makes open the Modify User Account Control (UAC). By changing the position of the slider please choose the required degree of protection, guided by the description on the right side of the screen (i recommend the level of "Notify me only when programs try to make changes to your computer"). To disable UAC slider to move to a lower level of "Never notify" and Click OK to save the settings and reboot. In windows vista go through this steps: Open the Start, Control Panel , User Accounts , Enable or disable the UAC (UAC) , Uncheck the option "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer, Click OK to save the settings and finally Restart the computer.

  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Hard Disk Space: 5.5 GB

Once you have verified the integrity of game cache, you can verify that the files are OK by browsing in your Steam directory: .. \ \ Steam \ \ steamapps \ \ [USERNAME] \ \ and choice rename or delete your file. Note: If you play a solo game, and you want to keep your backups, rename the game directory, The next time you launch the game, the files will be extracted from the cache files of the game If you want to restore your backup, copy the SAVE folder from your old game again.

Possible Solution 2: Try lower desktop resolutions and this will help you to solve your issue.

Fix Risen 2: Dark Waters Missing Texture Fix
  • First steps to solve Missing Texture is to Disable Post Processing Effects from the game option
  • If Disable Post Processing Effects doesn’t help you then try to update hardware driver like Graphic Card and Sound Card to latest version, if you’re not able to solve issue after updating to latest version then try to rollback to previous and then make sure your getting issue or not.
  • Computer resolution may cause the Missing Texture and so therefore try to launch this game with different resolution.

Solution for Risen 2: Dark Waters Crashes During or after the loading screen
  • Most time this issue occurs due to antivirus and so therefore I would like to suggest you to disable antivirus on your system before launching this game. Along with this I would like to suggest you to add Risen 2: Dark Waters for PC to your antivirus or firewall exceptions list, this will help you to fix Crashes During or after the loading screen..
  • Try to validate steam files because I think your game installation corrupted and so therefore your getting the issue, you can try to reinstall game although before this I would like to suggest you to perform Verify integrity of game cache as said above.

  • If above solution not working then try to run game with compatibility mode, to run this game on compatibility mode you need to go through these steps: first make right click on the Risen 2: Dark Waters.exe file and after that select the properties. Now on the properties go to the compatibility mode tab and after that make click on run this program on compatibility mode check box and after that select the windows 98 in drop down box.

Re: How to Fix Risen 2: Dark Waters Crashing, No Sound, Poor FPS, Black Screen, Errors

Steps to solve Risen 2: Dark Waters Crashes, Freezes, or Black Screen at start or after Intro Video
  • Try to Launch the game with Novid added to launch options of Steam. Along with this I would like to suggest you to verify the game cache for corrupted game files and error. To Verify the game cache you go through steps as given above. There are lots of issue to game crashing like old driver, antivirus and corrupted game file. So there its necessary to disable antivirus and update all driver to latest version to solve crashing and freezing issue.

  • First, you should check the requirements for your gaming computer configurations. Some games require high CPU and RAM resources. If your computer configurations are weak and do not meet the basic requirements of the game, it will not be able to run smoothly and freezes due to a shortage of RAM and CPU resources. You will need to update the basic requirements of at least (more configuration is better). To solve your problem of game freeze, you must use a registry cleaner to analyze and fix any errors in your registry. This is the safest way for you to stop game freezes that are caused by registry errors. And do not forget that you need to clean your registry every month to avoid problems and make your computer run at high speed.

  • Try reducing the hardware acceleration: When using the hardware acceleration display reduced, the display performance of the computer. It is also possible that Motocross Madness and other games that require 3D acceleration not start if the hardware acceleration set to Basic Acceleration or None. To reduce the hardware acceleration of the screen as follows: go to the start and after that point to Settings in Control Panel. Now in control panel make double click on System and after that go to the Performance tab and click Display. Now here move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the right of none (the Basic acceleration setting). Once you finish everything just save the all setting and after that restart the computer when you are prompted

  • The default refresh rate of your display adapter: If you set the refresh rate to a value not supported by the monitor and due to this you’re game will freezes and crash to desktop. So therefore please refer to the monitor or contact the manufacturer of the monitor to determine what refresh rates can be set up before the default refresh rate of your display adapter change. To change the default refresh rate of your display adapter as follows: go to Start and then click Run. Now on run type: dxdiag.exe and after that make click on ok button. Now you will get the tool and under that Click the More Help tab and click Change. Here select Value, type in the Value box, changes a refresh rate that both your video adapter and monitor is supported, and click OK.

  • If your using Quad Core and Multi-Core PCs then I think you should follow the below steps to fix crashing issue with Risen 2, first of all start the game and after that press Alt+Tab Out of the game. Now open task manager; to open task manger you can press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or type taskmgr in run from start. Now on the task manger go to process tab and under that locate to the Risen 2.exe process. Once you got the Risen 2.exe process just make right click on that and after that set Affinity, here Select core 0 and 1 only. Now you can play your game without facing crashing issue. This has been helped me to solve mine issue.

So above all is different solution to fix and troubleshoot sound, poor FPS, Black Screen, Errors and along with crashing, Black screen i hope these all steps helps you to fix issue of Risen 2: Dark Waters game.
