Recover Lost Files OR Deleted Files with PhotoRec
This quick tutorial will teach you to recover your deleted files in minutes. When you delete a file from your disk, it's like were cutting only the link provided access to this file. If it went directly to see on the disk, the file would be found intact. Warning, the file remains "recoverable" when the operating system was not rewritten to new data on its location. Do not expect to find files very old. So just use software that will go "digging" the hard to find deleted files. I named PHOTORECOVERY.
Note: PHOTORECOVERY also works on Windows and Mac. You can find the archives for Windows and Mac OS on the official site.
PhotoRec is a data recovery program designed to recover lost images from digital camera memory card, hence the name Photo Recovery. It can also recover lost files many, such as video, documents and archives stored on a hard drive or a CD-ROM. PhotoRec ignores the filesystem and goes directly to the underlying data, so it should work even if the filesystem is severely damaged or formatted. PhotoRec is safe to use, it will never attempt to write to your hard drive or other storage medium that you want to retrieve. Recovered files are written to the disk drive where you run PhotoRec. PhotoRec software is totally free multi-platform distributed under the GNU General Public License . PhotoRec is an extension of the application TestDisk , which allows you to recover lost partitions on a wide variety of system files and render drives unmounted removable.
