| Backing up a PSP's UMD to Memory Card and play from it later How To Backup UMDs on Memory Stick Requirements : How To : - If you are not sure, first verify if you have a custom firmware : On your PSP navigate to 'System > System Information' and press 'X' Button to View the information.
- Open the Recovery Console by pressing Select on the menu screen
- The Recovery Console should open
- Press Down Arrow button twice to select USB Device
- Change setting to UMD Disc by pressing Left Arrow button once
- Select EXIT and Press X button
- Insert the UMD into the PSP
- Connect USB cable to PC and then to PSP
- Now on your PSP navigate to 'Settings > USB Connection'
- Press X button to enable the USB Connection
- Now a Windows will be opened and an ISO file named "UMD9660.ISO" will be displayed.
- Now move the iso file to any desired location to preserve in case your UMD is damaged.
- Once you have backed up the file, disconnect the USB connection by pressing 'O' Button
- Unplug the USB cable and remove the UMD from the PSP
- Open the Recovery Console and press 'Down Arrow Button' twice to select the USB Device
- Change the settings to 'Memory Stick' by pressing Right Arrow Button once
- Select 'Exit' and Press 'X' button to exit the menu
- Connect the PSP to the computer again via USB Cable
- Rename the ISO file to an understandable Game's Name
- Now move the iso file to the ISO folder [don't make any folder inside ISO folder]
- Now again disconnect the USB connection and unplug the cable
- Now on your PSP, navigate to 'Game >Memory Stick'
- Now from the list select the game you want to play
