Using the TViX with a Macintosh
TViX can be formatted in two ways: FAT 32 or NTFS.
This product cannot be formatted as HFS + (Mac OS Extended).
The FAT 32 allows the TViX connected to USB 2.0 to your Macintosh. Discs using this format Files may be practical to use since they can both be connected to a PC than on a Macintosh, thus easily exchange files. If you do not film very size important in HD, this format is recommended.
The FAT 32 has a number of limitations:
- Files larger than 4 GB may not be copied.
- The long names are truncated and some characters can not be used to appoint files, otherwise they will not be copied.
That is why users want to copy the movies to the TViX HD large
prefer to use formatting to NTFS, which will require to connect the TViX to your Ethernet network or computer.
Formatting to NTFS is not currently on the Mac, we have already done this for you. The TViX is directly operational networked Mac or PC using USB 2.0 on PC.
You will find in this note the different procedures to transfer files - videos, music or photos - on the TViX. Both options (NTFS or FAT32 + network + USB 2.0) will be developed.
The procedures for connecting to a PC or use the TViX itself does with your TV you will not be explained in this notice (they are available in the main manual).
Note: NTFS, and Mac OS, you can not transfer files to the TViX by connecting USB 2.0. In fact, Mac OS does yet drives formatted in NTFS in read-only and not reading / writing.
