Dreambox Ftp Set-up and Installation Manual

Material:

RS232 cable "null modem" (PC versDB).
If you use DreamUp RJ 45 cable (DB / DB or Router / PC).
A USB stick of 128 minimum to be specified with flashwizad An internet connection.

Software to download before you begin:

DreamUp Flashwizard (copy images flash on stick and HDD)
DCC: dream control center (which also runs prog, ftp, telnet and web browser)
Official image or image compatible CVS LZMA for compatibility with images Recent Image: The choice is yours and so far it is mostly a matter of taste: Rudream - Davinci - Gemini - Hydra - Triplex - Neutrino - Pod etc ...

Installing the flash image: With flashwizard PRO 6RC1 it is also possible to install a flash image. (In this case it is necessary that the network configuration is already ok between the PC and the dream)


It's very simple:

• Open flashwizard on the pc, go into configuration and utilities'''' Enter the IP address that you configured in the network portion of the dreambox (For ex: 192.168.0.5)
• Enter the login and password (Default: root login and password dreambox) It's all here, now in alller install a firmware into FLASH memory.
• Fetching the image or official CVS and drag here or there to write and drag drop a firmware here.
• The installation begins, once the dream again. That means that you must now configure your boot image.

Start installation: Satellites:

Dreambox starts and a window comes on TV, calling pal, click save green button. English Language click ok.
Time zone: Amsterdam ... etc, click save button At this point your dreambox to reboot. Please choose your DiSEqC configuration!

1. For those who have sat lnb 2:

• Choose simple, click ok
• Choose 2 satellites via DiSEqC A / B

1. for Astra 19.2 E
2. for Hotbird 13.0 E (click save button) (Sometimes you have to put in Hotbird and Astra 1 in 2, it depends on your head or double wiring your case Disc )

Automatic multiscan (click ok)
Astra 19 (click ok on astra nothing to change in all)
Hotbird 13 (click ok on hotbird for noting change in all)
Now click start scan (green button) allow 10 minutes for the scan


2. For those who have an engine:

• Choose complex and click ok
• Check: use goto function XX
• Note latitude and longitude
• Click on the satellite that you want to change nothing ok in all click start scan,

Networking:

Part 1 no router for those who have two machines (pc + dreambox / RJ45 cross)

Networking Part 1:

With the Dreambox remote: menu button / setup / expert setup / communication setup
IP: 192.168.0. (Eg 4) DHCP unchecked (unchecked for dhcp: ok button before to change the ip, or no access)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Type lan Name
server: 192.168.0.1
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Enable network checked Green button (apply)

On the pc

1. start / connect / add a network connection and next next next
2. Create an IP address on the NIC: Local Area Connection / Properties / Protocol TCP.IP / property
3. Use the following IP address
4. IP Address: 192.168.0. (Eg 1)
5. Mask: 255.255.255.0
6. Reboot the dreambox (remote control button on the top right, push 3 secs click on restart).

Now we ping the dreambox:

1. start / run / cmd / ping / 192.168.0.4
2. Or a good program too small to see if everything is ok, DCC:
3. Open the program and click on the top left on configuration.
4. A window with a pc, a router and a dreambox s poster.
5. If the dreambox is connected directly to pc (RJ45 crossover) right click on cross at the top left, type in the tab below and click pc 192.168.0.1 reconnect,

Networking Part 2:

Reminder: RJ45 rights hub and connected to each machine, PC modem connected to the master and hub of course.

1. With the Dreambox remote: button menu / setup / expert setup / communication
2. setup IP: 192.168.0. (Eg 4) DHCP unchecked (unchecked for dhcp: ok button before want to change the IP, otherwise no access)
3. Netmask: 255.255.255.0
4. Type lan
5. Name server: 192.168.0.1
6. Gateway: 192.168.0.1
7. Enable network checked Green button (apply)
8. Reboot the dreambox (remote control button on the top right, push 3 secs click on restart).
9. Now we ping the dreambox: Start / run / cmd / ping / 192.168.0.4
10. Or use DCC to see if everything is ok:

12. click on the top left on configuration
13. choose top left switch / hub Ip pc:
14. click on reconnect: 102.168.0.1
15. Dreambox tapes IP: 192.168.0.4 click seeks
16. Nothing to add a hub, a green strip that connects pc a dream and a hub to appear

Networking Part 3:

Reminder: RJ 45 rights, the router connected to each machine!

We will assume that the router is configured, and has the IP 192.168.0.1 (and of course it is connected with RJ45 right to your dreambox)

With the remote Dreambox: Button / menu / setup / configuration expert / communication setup.

• IP: 192.168.0.4 (dhcp unchecked .. click ok on dhcp to unchecked power and change of IP)
• Netmask: 255.255.255.0
• Type: Lan Name
• server: 192.168.0.1 (router becomes name server comment)
• Gateway: 192.168.0.1
• Enable network: checked Port: 80, and green button to save
• Reboot the dreambox (remote control button on the top right, push 3 secs click on restart).

Now we ping the dreambox:

1. start / run / cmd / ping / 192.168.0.4 Or use DCC for s'assurrer that everything is ok;
2. Open the DCC, and click on configuration (top left of the window) Below pc, click on reconnect
3. Below the dreambox tapes: 192.168.0.4 (and seeks click)
4. Below tapes router: 192.168.0.1 click seeks A green strip, which connects a dreambox pc and the router

Flashwizard:

FlashWizard : The utility is designed to automate the updating of images Software Dreambox. It is capable of managing the image and the images flash multiboot on a usb stick or an internal hard drive to the dream.
