Coolplayer Music Player
In the featherweight category of music players, here is an interesting challenger. Coolplayer, unlike the current trend that makes our players real gas plants to do everything, is just a music player. Better still, this is a small executable, which guarantees him a launch instant, the opportunity to take him wherever you go and use it on any computer without installing from your USB drive . Moreover, the authors of the excellent compilation Framakey, combining the best of the free software to the USB, did not make mistakes because they have chosen Coolplayer for the audio.
Light, therefore, it is. But also smaller in the belly: playing MP3 and OGG files by default, you can add skins light and pleasant to the eye, plugins support for even greater compatibility (Monkey Audio, FLAC, AAC. ..), managing M3U playlists, shuffle mode, or anything you need to read music and, for once, nothing more.
Notice the wording:
Despite its somewhat obsolete concreption will smile lovers software features more mature as foobar2000 or Winamp 5, XMPlay brings a breath of fresh air: a music player that does just that. Very nice!
Notice the wording:
If you do not need advanced encoding or handle ID3 tags for it! Coolplayer is a small gem of minimalism and lightness, but still pretty cool.

XMPlay Music Player
In the category of small music players that are under the hood, here XMPlay, a competitor but discreet which deserves to be known. XMPlay takes its name from its origin: the drive was primarily aimed at XM files that fans know mods. The software has come a long way since then, it now reads many audio formats: MP3, OGG, WMA and WAV standard, but also FLAC, AAC or Monkey Audio via plugins and even many of music formats Video Games (C64, Amiga, SNES ...)
No frills at the interface, however XMPlay has little to envy the "big" in this field. Skins freeform and plugins are the same if they are obviously not as many as Winamp. Just like Coolplayer, XMPlay embraced not only features and only offers that proposed Winamp 2.x
