Reduce electricity bill from your PC

Yes! The computer also has to contribute to environmental protection. With multi-processors, graphics cards surpuissantes, their many hard drives and peripherals, our computers are energy hungry. With Edison, you can better control the energy consumption of the PC and reduce your electric bills.

Step 1

PC wastes half the energy it consumes. This was noted by the researchers at the Climate Savers initiative (which the WWF and various manufacturers including AMD, Intel, HP, Lenovo, NEC and Microsoft). It aims to optimize the energy consumption of equipment.

- Download and install the software from this link.
- At first launch, the software requires an activation email. Click on the link "Click Here", fill out the form and click Register.
- Open your mail. You should have received a letter from Verdiem Team. Click on the link provided in the email to activate your account.
- Full-Edison and click the button I'm Activated
- The main screen appears. We will discover in the next step.

The main screen has 4 tabs:
Work Time: sets the parameters for energy saving during office hours.
Non-Work Time: sets the parameters for saving energy during the days and hours not worked.
Schedule: You can specify the hours and days worked.
More: give in this version 1.0, access to the official website of Edison.


To begin, it is useful to specify the hours "worked" on your PC.

- Click on Schedule (Planning).
- Select Start Time in the time you start your day working on the PC.
- Select End Time in the time when your PC becomes less active.
- And in the Days, uncheck the days when you're not using your PC hard
(Mon = Monday, Tue = Tuesday, Wed = Wednesday, Thu = Thursday, Fri = Friday, Sat = Saturday, Sun = Sunday).
- Go to the tab Work Time (Period worked) and place the cursor Custom (Custom) in the middle (Save Less energy economy minimum / Save More economy maximum).
- Go to the tab Non-Work Time (Period not worked) and place the cursor on Custom Save More (thus far right).
- The "Estimated Annual Savings" said the savings from your settings, both on your electricity bill but also in terms of kilowatt hours and in the release of CO2.
- Close the window and see that Edison continues to monitor your PC thanks to the presence of a new icon in notification area of the system.

Step 3


Edison, when it is active, displays an icon in the notification area of the system (near the clock).

If you double-click it, you open the main window of the software.

If you click it will display a menu control software offers three options:
- Hide when minimized: Edison mask button on the taskbar when the window is minimized (default option).
- Start on user login: order the program from starting automatically Edison at the opening session of the user.
- Close this program: You can leave the software completely.
